Hello everyone!! My name is Carmel Watson, I am 32 years old and from the very beautiful, very sunny South Africa. I am so happy to introduce myself to you and would like to thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about ME
Welcome to our Imagine Family and we especially welcome you to online learning for the time being until we are able to enjoy face to face time at our wonderful campuses…hopefully not too long from now!
I have lived in Beijing for 4 years now and I can gladly say that I love life here in China. I love the deep sense of culture that living abroad has to offer and I have learn a lot about the different cultures and way of life here in China and I certainly look forward to learning more about this wonderful country in the future! As they say, we never stop learning… something which I have definitely learnt through teaching, is that not only do I educate and teach children, but I have learnt so much from children as well!
I have a strong 12 year teaching background and I certainly have a passion that resides deep within my heart. This is a very deep love for children and a desire to teach and educate, as well as learn from the pure-hearted, innocent and incredible outlook of a child’s mind! I think, for a teacher to be able to teach well, we should be able to look through the eyes of a child and to constantly adapt ourselves in order to grow with them and help them grow as well!
From a language teaching style perspective, I am very expressive and teach with much passion, enthusiasm and excitement. I truly believe that teaching natural conversational speech is important as this is the whole point of teaching a language - to be able to speak freely and communicate well I have found the greatest joy in seeing the progress of my previous students as they have learnt English and the excitement they have expressed in being able to easily communicate with me and other English speakers. For me, it is such a rewarding experience, privilege and a true blessing to be a part of helping make a difference, a change and teaching a language to a child. Even more so, seeing progress and growth take place within a child! I love children as if they were my very own and I have learnt to treat children with respect and to build relationships of trust, love and team effort!
My vision and hope for my future classes, both online and campus learning is that my children will grow, progress and find a deep sense of joy in learning the English language! I will passionately provide continuous support, guidance and commitment, all within a happy, nurturing and comfortable environment. I can’t wait to meet all of you and build a wonderful relationship in the future!
大家好！！我叫卡梅尔，32岁，来自非常美丽，阳光灿烂的南非。我已经在北京生活了4年了，我喜欢在中国的生活，喜欢异国文化的深厚底蕴，对中国不同的文化和生活方式了解了很多，我当然期待将来能更多地了解这个美妙的国家！我拥有12年的教龄，在内心深处仍然保留对教学的激情， 这主要来源于我对孩子们非常深刻的爱，和对他们提供教育的初心，他们的天真无邪以及强大的可塑性令我十分感动！ 我认为，一名教师需要能够透过孩子的眼睛，不断调整自己才能做到更好，以便与他们一起成长，帮助他们成长！
从语言教学风格的角度来看，我非常富有表现力，教学充满激情，热情和兴奋点。我相信，以母语习得方式来开展英语教学是非常重要的，因为这就是教授一种语言的全部要点。看到我以前的学生取得迅速进步，能够轻松与我和其他英语使用者交流令人十分兴奋。对我来说，在孩子学习语言的黄金时期，能够帮助他们获得提升、进步与成长，这是一次有益的经历和真正的祝福。我爱孩子，好像他们是我自己的，我会尊重孩子，努力建立信任、爱和团队努力的关系！
